A knuckle split her lip, blood flooding her mouth.
“You’re one of us!” he laughed. “You’re the proof that curses don’t have to hide, that we can live as humans! You're the key, Rumi!”
Rumi staggered, planted her feet, and snarled.
“I am nothing like you!”
She surged forward and smashed her forehead into his face. Mahito reeled as blood sprayed across her skin.
She lunged and bit into his neck, tearing free flesh that tasted of rot and copper. Gagging, she spat it out just as he slammed her away.
She rose, snarling.
Mahito just smiled, his eyes tracing her blood-soaked claws, the purple patterns on her skin, her single golden, slitted eye.
“You sure about that?” he asked softly.
“Because from where I’m standing… you look more like a curse than I do, sister.”

The very first generation of Quirked Individuals had it rough. With the appearance of these mysterious superpowers known as Quirks, those who have acquired them have been subject to heavy discrimination. A school known as Yuuei is built under the guise of being a safe haven for the Quirked, but is in reality, a way for the Quirkless to keep Quirked individuals in one place, so they are easier to contain.
Izuku Midoriya dreams of bringing an end to these hostilities, and does everything he can to help people who suffer from prejudice and discrimination, regardless of their status as Quirked or Quirkless. Denied entry to Yuuei, he willingly accepts the Quirk One For All - Solely to help his Quirked friends, and to stand against prejudice with them.
