Summary
The boy turned away from Overhaul’s still form to Mirai, still upright only because the spike in his chest stopped him from falling. The resolution in his eyes wavered for a second before it was back, harder than ever and he was rushing to his side. “There’s paramedics just outside the building, hang on just a little longer. You’re gonna be fine, Sir.”
As his head fell and Mirai struggled to remain awake, he couldn’t help but wonder, “Who…?”
The kid shifted, ready to support Mirai whilst doing his best not to touch the spike through his chest. “Ah, no one important,” he muttered, face turned away from Mirai’s.
But as Mirai fell into the clutches of sleep he could have sworn the kid had continued as he carefully lifted Mirai's body, “Just some quirkless kid.”
(More a less a one punch man AU.)
