Scott was still breathless from laughter as Owain approached him to thank him for joining in. “Hey, what was your last name again?” the knight asked offhandedly. “Gold... Something? Smith? Spring...?”
The blond elf shook his head in amusement. “Springwell,” he corrected.
“Ah, of course, of course,” Owain said quickly, and then he was off again, headed for the stage to make a few more remarks.
Scott sat in his chair, one elbow on the table, and an odd sound started ringing in his ears. “Gold... Smith,” echoed in his mind. “Goldsmith. Scott Goldsmith...”

Pearl grabs Cleo’s hand rubbing her thumb on the back of theirs in soothing motion “We’ll deal with it together, especially with 7 humans, they could be trouble” Pearl says in a tone that says she plans to deal with said trouble by getting into scrap. Cleo can’t help but smirk a little at Pearl’s confidence. It’s unfortunately earned. Pearl is by far the better fighter out of the two. Even as a human she was formidable, being a vampire had only enhanced that. Cleo couldn’t help but find it charming. “They should be near the Crypt beacon, so we should confront them there. See if we can talk them out of here before dealing with trouble your way my love” Cleo said pulling Pearl to the door. That got a giggle out of Pearl which made Cleo smile.

Everything is silent and still. This region has been that way for two centuries, keeping out all but the most persistent of wanderers, shielding itself from the outside since the last time abundant blood was spilled and fed the enchantment that ensures that the dreadful creature at its heart remains asleep.
The soil yearns for the call of its master, the corruption spreads, and the living beings that still inhabit this place keep on living, subdued, waiting. There's an air of anticipation: it's almost the promised time once again.
