A smile creeped onto his face, being in awe with what he saw in the mirror. His body stood in the middle of the room like marble, pure as he has always wanted it to be. But just as his smile seemed to grow into laughter, Homelander saw the mirror crack. Or did he? He wasn’t sure whether his mind was playing tricks on him, but reaching towards the mirror, he was able to feel them.
Startled, he took a step back.
No. He wasn’t pure. He wasn’t like marble. He was so far from it, he thought. He had to do better, look better, be better. His brows furrowed.
