Summary
Crowley is quiet for a moment before responding. “Angel,” he says, voice low. “I don’t think the apology dance is getting us out of this one.”

The art of repair can be a tricky one. In certain instances, one may find that fixing that which has broken requires a person (or an entity, as it may be) to adopt a non-linear mode of thinking. This is not an undertaking for the narrow of mind, nor for the faint of heart. It is a very, very delicate operation.
Which is to say that, sometimes, under truly dire circumstances… you may find that the solution calls for breaking things even further.

Summary
Crowley stops abruptly. “You want me to be an angel again,” he seems to realize out loud, a bitter twist to his lips that Aziraphale hasn’t seen in a long, long time.
“Well, you were a lovely angel,” Aziraphale tries to explain himself. “Don’t you remember the times we had? How wonderful it all was?”
“If who you want is that angel,” Crowley begins, his voice carefully level, “then who you want is not me.”
~
Aziraphale realizes there's been a rather large misunderstanding between them.
