Summary
It's been almost 6 months since they defeated the Elderbrain. Everybody seems to have found a purpose in life. Except Maeva. Should she stay with Halsin and become a 'mummy' to the refugees (something that frankly terrifies her) or leave and find her own adventure? Maybe with her best friend Astarion, down in the Underdark...
'I'm going to miss you.' It was true. And not just as a friend. They'd been good together in battle too, their movements and weapons enhancing each other like a paired set of steel blades. She bit her lip. And they had fucked - as he so eloquently put it - twice, until she'd had a flash of conscience and finished that particular source of enjoyment.
Sometimes she was such an idiot.

Summary
Ellandra blinked at the iron lamp-post, its magical glow casting a flickering halo of light onto the delicate snowflakes that fluttered and floated around it. The ground was a blanket of crisp whiteness, and the sound of murmured conversations ebbed and flowed from somewhere nearby, punctuated by peals of laughter and happy exclamations. The spicy aroma of cinnamon, apples and warming alcohol permeated the air.
Was that... jingling bells?
Disoriented, she took a step back and watched as a sleigh - pulled by a transparent silvery unicorn - zipped and weaved in her general direction. Two red-faced, hysterical dwarves and an extremely merry troll skimmed by, waving tankards and singing something loud and gleeful. They cheered and sang louder as they veered round her, narrowly missing a bolting squirrel, its red bushy tail flicking panicked puffs of snow behind it.
Ahh. Suddenly it made sense.

Summary
She'd been on that nautiloid ship. With two others. Where are they? She manoeuvres herself to her feet, and stumbles forward. Someone lies prone a short distance away. Slim with dark, hair framing her face, arms by her sides as if placed there deliberately, carefully. Not a hair out of place. Beside her, a strange object. Polyhedral. Foreign markings etched onto each of its faces. A dim glow emanates from within as Maeva stretches out a hand to grasp it, then she thinks better of it and gives the stranger a shake. What was her name…?

Summary
Maeva and Astarion have a heart-to-heart at Moonrise.
---
'Are you hungry?' She took the notebook back and threw it on the pile.
'I thought you'd be trancing by now. I was going to slip in, eat and slip out again.' He raised an eyebrow and grinned. 'So to speak.'
'I tried to trance.' She shrugged. 'I gave up. So now you have the pleasure of my sparkling company while you dine on me.'
'Well, I'll just have to put up with it, I suppose.' He smirked as she play-shoved him onto his back, then propped herself up on an elbow to look down at him.
'Well, what are you waiting for? An invitation?'
'You cheeky little…' He exhaled a laugh and grabbed the back of her neck, pulling her down to press her mouth against his. She tasted of red wine and her – spicy and sweet like cloves and cinnamon. He trailed his fingers gently from her neck down her back. He hadn't intended this, but she smelled so good - and kissing her wasn't unpleasant, and she was letting him pierce her pretty neck and suck her blood, and it was so easy to make her come apart.

Summary
"See you any mark upon their neck? See you any dirt upon their clothes?"
She wriggled. Gods, his voice was sinful. He swept his eyes over her. 'Hmm, your clothes are filthy. I suppose it’s not really surprising given the past few days.
He dropped the book and leaned over her, their bodies touching. There was a soft breath on her neck then cool lips brushing over where he'd last fed from her. 'And that is definitely a mark on your neck.' He kissed his way up until he reached her mouth, then pulled her closer to him, pushing one of his legs between hers. 'Bad news, my sweet. I think you might be a vampire,' he said softly as his hands pulled at her clothing. 'Now take these filthy things off so I can continue my examination.'

Summary
In which Tav believes the latest symptom of her grief is the hallucination of her lost love.
Or, Gale finds himself unexpectedly resurrected.
------
Gods, she hates him. Hates him bitterly for leaving her behind. And Gods, how she loves him, still. Enough to have dragged herself to Waterdeep, as per his wishes. Enough to have let Tara coddle her those first few days. Enough to have sobbed into Morena Dekarios’ waiting arms. Enough to speak to him every evening from the balcony he had promised they would share. Enough to have started reading each of his books, knowing his fingers had touched every page. Enough to imagine all the ways he might’ve reacted to the news of his impending fatherhood. The latter she lingers on more than she would like, for it only gives way to other, saccharine fantasies she knows will never come to fruition.

Summary
Dear Readers,
I, Abbi, always believed alien abduction was plausibly real, but it was for other people. Maybe, aliens like abducting people who are mentally ill so it seemed like they are lying. Maybe, that's why I ended up on the nautiloid. Or maybe, I wasn't supposed to.
Either way, whether by design or by accident, I got to see a world saved. Even if it was technically just a tiny corner of it and not even my own.
Sometimes, it takes just a random group of people motivated to solve the same problem to make a difference, one step at a time. At the behest of my companions, I’m getting my adventure on paper. Sometimes the gods really are listening. And sometimes they're just cunts.
Cheers to the Heroes of Baldur's Gate and, hopefully, we can get a more accurate retelling down since Volo's was — please, don't read it. We didn't have a dragon with us, just a dragonborn.
(This is written as an imagining from 1st person POV of “Tav” and the companions writing down their journey of becoming the Heroes of Baldur’s Gate as submissions. Each chapter may contain differing voices (I.E. Astarion's and Abigail's) but they are separated into their own sections.)
