Hunter knows it's not true—he can feel it in his lack of organs that he was never real to begin with so there was nothing for him to be back to. His mouth is full of dirt when he speaks, “I am back with no one. I never had a someone and no one ever had me.”
The man pauses, his arms tensing around his torso before he says, in that same sweet tone, “You may not be real poppet, but I love you and that makes you real for right now.”

Another tear slipped over Mark’s cheek, and he brought his other hand up to cup the other side of Jett’s helmet. “Do you love me too?” he asked, brows drawing together as a frown twitched onto his face.
Time seemed to stop. What was he supposed to say to that? He’d never really thought about Mark like that before. It just wasn’t even an option in his mind, they were in a killing game, now wasn’t the time for that sort of thing. He opened his mouth to respond, to tell him the truth- but as he stared at Mark, the look on his face, he could only think that something was deeply wrong.
He found himself nodding instead.
