Juniper had always gravitated toward science. By her mid-twenties, that pull had carried her all the way to a PhD in theoretical physics. During her early college years, she met Bruce Banner in a shared course; the two briefly collaborated on a paper and struck up an easy friendship—one that faded abruptly when Bruce vanished after his accident.
