“Wait,” she says, and the Sheriff hasn’t heard her voice this strong before. It’s melodious. It reminds him of his wife’s when she sings lullabies to their daughter; something she hasn’t felt up to for a couple of months. Damn. Why does one word from this stranger make him this nostalgic?
“There is something that you can do for me, actually. Don’t call me Ms. Valenka. Can you… can you use my first name?” She looks entirely too fragile to be asking such a simple request. He fears that if he says no she will shatter.
“Of course. Let me know if you need anything, Stiles.”
She turns her face away and he shuts the door between them.

Stiles has a plan, a good one, and it’s going well—until she’s arrested for something she doesn’t even remember doing. And of course it’s her luck that Sheriff Stilinski is there to interrogate her, being all nice and talking about his nine year-old daughter like it’s not ripping out Stiles' very heart.

Summary
Derek knows the moment he meets eleven year-old Stiles that he’s found his mate. Of course he doesn’t tell the boy this, because he knows that would be creepy and would probably get him arrested. So he bides his time, and befriends the boy and falls in love and waits for the day when Stiles can be a part of his life, forever.
And really, in the end, it’s all Derek’s fault.
Stiles will become a more permanent part of Derek’s life, just not in the capacity he’s been hoping for. Not in the capacity he needs.
It’s because Derek wanted his privacy. It’s because Derek lied to his family. It’s because he wasn’t paying close enough attention.
It’s about happiness and sacrifices and loving your family and doing what’s right, even when it feels like the worst decision of your life.

Summary
He sometimes had the occasional, very vivid dream wherein he traveled to strange worlds and had bizarre adventures. This may well be one of them, if only for the irony. Given the possibility that every lucid dream is actually long-range astral projection or parallel incarnation, he had no qualms about treating this world as real. Of course, he could also be wrong. Wouldn't that be something? If nothing else, though, his new family won't take quite the same amount of work to salvage as his previous one.

The screen showed Peter Parker, sixteen years old and determined to prove the identity of Spider-Man over the course of the three-part documentary he was making, unknowing that it would become viral within days of the first part being released. Behind the camera, way off screen, was Harley Keener, Tony Stark’s other prodigy child, grinning like crazy as Peter started the documentary. Only a few people knew what was to come, and those few people were about to have a great few weeks.
