Ash Ketchum was supposed to be a legend. Instead, he’s a kid from Pallet Town who slept through his own destiny and spent a month staring at a "Pikachu" clock that feels more like an insult than a decoration.
When a guilt-ridden Professor Oak drags Ash and his mom to the sunny Alola region for an "errand," Ash expects more of the same: sun, sand, and the crushing realization that he’s a trainer with no one to train. But in the shadows of the Melemele woods, he finds something that is just as much of a mess as he is.
It’s yellow. It’s got ears. It’s made of old rags and crayon scribbles, and it definitely doesn't like being called a "fake."
