Summary
“Don’t sleep. You have work to do.” The new voice was calm, but you could hear the slight annoyance seeping through it.
“I’m not sleeping, Dream. Do I look like I’m?” he let his head fall to the side, still comfortably twisted in a chair.
“Yes, you do.” he handed Wilbur a small box and Wilbur took it - after he let him wait for a while to annoy him a bit.
“You will not help Tommy in this condition. Do something with yourself.” Dream added, looking deadly at him.
Wilbur stretched his arms and sit on the chair with a better posture. He hated to admit it, but Dream was right in this – he looked like a mess. Spinning back on the chair to the table Wilbur opened a lid of a bigger box, installed on the table, and put the smaller box in.
“Did anything interesting happen today?” he asked casually, expecting one of Dream’s monologs that would fill the silence while waiting, but instead of that, his answer was a simple sentence.
“Tubbo got accepted to the college in L’Manburg.”

Wilbur and Dream are two entities living inside Tommy's head who try to guide him through life.

“What?”
“A cat,” Techno repeats, just as shaky as the first time. “He’s blonde, a tabby? Blue eyes? He’s really little, and I— I lost him.”
Tommy blinks, stunned, as Techno lifts a hand and wipes the tears from his eyes. You’re still fucking shaking. Get out of the cold, you idiot.

Summary
The bell on the door rang as it was pushed open. It was too early for Technoblade’s next appointment, so— without even glancing up— he said, “No walk-ins.”
The footsteps didn’t stop until they reached the counter. Someone cleared their throat. Technoblade raised his eyes to find a teenager glaring at him over the counter.
“No walk-ins,” Technoblade repeated, bored.
“I’m not here for a tattoo.”
“Well, we don’t do anything else,” Technoblade said dryly. This was the most entertainment he’d gotten all day, save for the long appointment he’d had that morning with Dream, one of his most consistent customers.
“You need help,” the kid said with conviction.
Technoblade arched his brow. “I wasn’t aware of that.”
“Well, you do.”
Technoblade examined him critically. The kid was tall but clearly young— the kind of customer Technoblade would double-check the ID of. “Are you even old enough to be in here?”
The kid ignored the question. “You need help around here. And I need an apprenticeship.”
Or, Technoblade is a tattoo artist and Tommy seeks an apprenticeship. The ink of their lives bleed together in unexpected ways.

Summary
A hand gripped his shoulder, fingers digging in uncomfortably tight as he found himself pinned to the wall behind him. Even as the other arm swung back for momentum, Tommy did not even find himself flinching.
It wouldn’t hurt.
He knew it couldn’t.
Not more than the other options would.
That was something that had been made clear to him on his first days walking these hallways. It was either him or someone else. When he got closer to his foster brothers, they were in the line of fire. When he made friends, it was either him or them.
So Tommy did what he knew was right.
He sacrificed.

Tommy throws himself into harm's way without even acknowledging what he is losing in the process.

His mom and dad watched with fond smiles. “Tommy, you wanted to discuss staying here.” His mom called, everyone’s attention towards her. “Tommy? You wanna stay?” Wilbur asked, his button eyes shining as his grin grew. Tommy nodded.
“We can arrange that.” She said, his dad opening a cabinet and grabbing a black box that held blue ribbon and a star design.
Tommy’s eyes widened. “R-Really?!” He asked. His dad laughed softly, “Don’t get to excited. This may be a deal breaker..” He said sadly. Tommy’s excitement fumbled.
His dad cautiously opened the box to reveal-
two black buttons? .. And red thread?
Tommy was more than confused, until it clicked.

Summary
In some sick way, Techno enjoyed fighting. The gladiator reveled in being the best at something, at training and seeing his hard work come to fruition, at becoming the safe bet for every gambler in the city.
In another life, maybe Techno would have fought for pride or power. He would have savored the taste of victory, greedy for more battles and more encores.
As it was, Techno just fought to survive and to make the arena money. He was not allowed to want anything more.
OR: Techno and Tommy live in a gladiator arena.
