Joanie Lyman's story didn't begin with a broken popcorn popper, and it didn't end at her death. A story about heroism, memory, and the power of shaping your own fate.

    Summary

He’s standing outside of the hot tub with Scott, the barest beginnings of sunlight on the horizon as the moon sets, enjoying a rare moment of sleepy contentedness—

The hair on the back of his neck stands up, breath freezing in his chest as those familiar whispers build and build and build

He’s there again, he must be, and he wrenches his eyes shut in an effort to deny it. A childish notion, as if it’s not there just because he can’t see it. He doesn’t want to see it; destroyed bases and empty graves and the statue of a nameless god. A world that, when it couldn’t keep secrets anymore, decided to keep him instead. A cobblestone courthouse. A crumbling trading post. Hundreds of sunflowers, all facing towards the Secret Keeper. Ready for harvest, soon. About to die on their own if he doesn’t kill them first—

    Summary

Podfic of on the getaway mile by Odaigahara

“You want me to do what?” the civilian asked disbelievingly, and Scar’s body language shifted to that of an impatient trainer, one whose fuse was running short. It was a precursor to bad things, like being tased or forced onto a treadmill for hours; Mumbo flinched even knowing it was an act, and the civilian cut off with a squeak, so Mumbo knew he felt the same way.

Or possibly that was the gun. Scar having a gun seemed more likely as an explanation, now that Mumbo thought of it.

Stealing the car would be better, but they had no idea where they were going, and neither of them was familiar with road laws. What if they hit a person while driving? What if there was some sort of kill switch in the car that the owner could flip to blow it up with them inside? Anti-villain tech had to be wild, from what the Foundation had on hand– and they were villains now for sure. Not just for defying the Foundation, but for this. Heroes didn’t take the actions he and Scar were taking.

    Summary

This is a podfic of Amethystfairy's series Traveling Thieves, thank you so much to her for allowing me to do this podfic and to @boo_the_AHH for the advice and support!

Here is Amethsyt's Original series description:

A collection of all the stories in Traveling Thieves, which is my Dark Fantasy, Hybrid Slavery, super angsty AU that spawned from my Whumptober 2023 prompt fills! Currently in semi-chronological order except for the first fic in the series, which will always be “I see the danger, it’s written there in your eyes” which if anyone does want to read the series in chronological order, I’d like them to start there! ^-^ I also occasionally place some stories in specific locations that I think work best for the reading order that aren't exactly where they'd be timeline-wise!

WARNING: THIS IS A WHUMP-CENTRIC, ANGST-CENTRIC, HURT/COMFORT (SOMETIMES NO COMFORT) DARK FANTASY AU.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE read the tags before you dive into any stories of this one, this series is intended to be a place for me to try my hand at writing and exploring some darker themes.

    Summary

Grian had collapsed onto the desk, hitting his head and in the process knocking himself so far out he was sparred the worst of it. Next thing he knew he was slumped over his desk with a bloody nose, the half-folded napkin he had dropped lying on the floor, his left hand hanging limply next to it with the number ‘41’ newly branded onto his wrist.

The knowledge of what it meant had burnt itself into his mind alongside the timer on his wrist: Forty-one years left to live.
