The first time Wille heard Simon sing, he thought no playlist, no recording, maybe nothing ever again would be able to make the world fade away quiet like the melody that was Simon's voice. It parted the clouds and brought light and color into his gray world. It soothed the hurt, washed away the anxiety, lightened his heart.
Willes' voice had always sounded like music to Simon. It drew all of his focus, making his emotions light up, making the world around fade away. “I love you.” Willes' words felt like the most heartbreaking melody Simon had ever heard.
This story is about Wille and Simon finding their way back to one another. Wille is figuring out what he wants, how to be confident in himself, and how to repair the trust he broke with Simon. Simon is dealing with the complexities of his life, and is beginning to fall in love with the Crown Prince. Music weaves them together, and holds them while they are apart. Lots of introspection, tons of angst, fluff and some smut, cause why not?
This is canon compliant post Season 1, written before Season 2 was released. I also added some history/details to characters like Walter, Madison and Ludvig. I hope you love reading as much as I loved writing it 🫀

“Simon Eriksson. It’s certainly been a while.”
His eyes widen, his mouth going a little dry as he realizes with a sudden sense of surprise that Wilhelm Cronstedt is standing in front of him, looking him over with his intense amber gaze. He has an edgier, artsy sort of haircut now, long in the back, shorter in the front, and purposefully messy, as though he's just rolled out of bed. Simon is painfully aware that he is most definitely pulling it off. His eyes also go to the stud piercing he has in his right ear.
Wilhelm smiles at him, tilting his head, “You do remember my name don’t you? The last time we met—-“
“Yeah, I do. Of course, I do. Sorry…um what exactly are you doing here?”
He laughs, softly but the amusement is evident. “You know that I work here right?” He turns to point to the cluttered-looking desk Simon had passed earlier. “Just over there. I’m the Creative Design Lead.”
Oh.

Simon considers this for a moment, then shakes his head. “Who would agree to that? I’m not exactly known for my social standing here. The only people I hang out with are you and Sara and her friends, who are all girls.”
“So I’ll do it then,” Wille offers, like that should’ve been obvious. Simon’s his best friend, and he’s upset. This seems like a no-brainer to him.
