    Summary

“What are you staring at Master Anthony?” Jarvis asks him gently, because Jarvis is always gentle.

It’s what Tony loves about him.

“Dog,” Tony tells him simply as he raises a hand and points in the sick looking dog’s direction.

“Ah,” Jarvis’ voice sounds pinched and when Tony looks up his lips are pursed. “I’ll call Maxwell, he’ll catch the poor thing and see that it’s cared for.”

“No,” Tony shakes his head even as he toes disinterestedly at the ball. “It’s leaving soon.”

“Really now,” Jarvis pats him softly on the head. “What makes you say that?”

“It’s going to die.” Tony tells him seriously as he tilts his head up to look Jarvis in the eye.

“So fierce,” the man mocks, face creasing in a wicked smile as he sits up straight once again. “I fear I’ve insulted the lady and that is, of course, intolerably rude of me.”

He raises his hand, fingers twisting in the air in front of him, and then, wrapped around his fingers is a small golden snake.

Its eyes are a brilliant green that matches his.

“A gift then,” he grins at her as he lowers the hand back down, “to beg your humble forgiveness.”

    Summary

“How long until earthfall J?” Toni asks, hands steady on the wheel and mind whirling.

“If the current rate of propulsion is kept, less than an hour,” JARVIS tells her promptly. “The vessel is large, fast, and does not seem to be attempting to maintain any level of true stealth. Radio contact will be possible in five to ten minutes, Miss.”

Toni, having been enjoying a leisurely drive down the scenic route back to the Compound, is just under an hour away even if she speeds significantly. That’s unacceptable.

“I’ll be there in six,” Toni tells him even as she pushes the seat back a bit from the dash. “Scramble the Legion, get Rhodey and Vision on alert, and send a ping to Panthro. Don’t tell them to assemble just … to be ready to if we have to.”

“Of course, Miss,” JARVIS answers promptly.

Even without her hands on the wheel the car doesn’t so much as sway off course.

JARVIS has, as always, anticipated her every need.

    Summary

“Never thought I’d come after another mouthy Terran,” Yondu grins, crooked teeth unabashedly bared and seemingly unconcerned, “but my boy … well he deserves the best. Figured I’d make up for threatenin’ to eat him all those years. Might stop him from being so pissy all the time.”

“That’s real sweet and all,” Toni cuts in sharply as understanding dawns on her, “but I doubt he’s my type. And it’s not the blue thing either, because that could be hot. It’s more along the lines of the whole I’m not leaving with you thing.”

“Well see, that’s where you’re wrong,” Yondu smirks and abruptly whistles. Toni’s startled for a split second by the arrow that darts towards her from where it had been sheathed at his waist. The fin on his head glows a threatening red.

    Summary

What if Voldemort had chosen the pureblood boy, not the halfblood, as his opponent? This Neville would have had graves to visit, instead of a hospital. He’d still have grown up in his grandmother’s clutches, tut-tutted at, dropped out windows absentmindedly, left to bounce on paving stones.

Let’s tell this story: Alice Longbottom, who was the better at hexing, told Frank to take Neville and run.
