“You really love me,” you whisper when you pull back, eyes wide as if it still surprises you.
There’s a beat where everything holds, and there’s no laughter, no flinch. It’s only you, looking at him like he’s something you chose, like you’d do it again.
“More than anything,” he says simply, truth so heavy it sinks straight to the bottom of the tub. “More than I’ve ever loved anything. Ever.”
He means that. Means it in the kind of way that terrifies him, quiet and vast and swallowing. And that’s because he’s had obsessions, addictions. Sure, there've been people he’d burn the world for, starve for, kill for without hesitation just to hear their praise. But this isn’t the same. You don’t demand things. You look at him, with those soft eyes and that stupid little smile, and he wants to be good. It isn’t even about redemption. It’s the fact that, for the first time in ages—maybe ever—he matters.

Spike risks a glance at you, eyes flicking away when they meet yours.
“Not much of a man now, am I? But the way you look at me... bugger me if it doesn’t make me feel like I could be.” He forces a chuckle, brittle around the edges. “Maybe it’s just my own foolishness talking. Wouldn’t be the first time.” He stops, swallowing hard. “But if this is the end, I need you to know that… that every stupid poem I scratched out, back when my heart was still beatin’—they were shadows of what I feel now. For you.”
Spike's fingers reach out and touch, delicate across your cheekbone, down to cup your jaw. “You’ve gone and wrapped yourself ‘round me. Tighter than a noose, sweeter than blood, even. I can’t stop wantin’ more. Reckon I never will.”

The arrival of a second daughter took both by surprise, for they had come to believe the child in the Queen’s belly had been their longed-for son. It was nonetheless announced that the Queen had been delivered of a healthy girl, and a great relief was struck up across the Realm, the bells of King’s Landing being rung from dawn to dusk and the people gathering on the streets in praise of their new Princess.”

Summary
"The marriage between the second daughter of King Viserys and his own brother, Prince Daemon, raised eyebrows upon its first announcement. Many assumed the match would echo the Rogue Prince's unfortunate first union with the late Lady Rhea, despite his wish for a Valyrian bride being, finally, fulfilled. It surprised all to see the intensity of Daemon's devotion to his second wife, a regard that would persist through a long and happy union between uncle and niece."

Summary
The past few moons have not been kind to him. In a few days he’s lost his good sister, has been taken out of the line of succession, and delegated to nothing more but a burden to his brother, and to the rest of the kingdom as well. Even the elation of having been ridden of his horrible marriage to Rhea has been short lived, as his brother annulled one union to just form another. To Otto Hightower’s daughter nonetheless, the very man responsible for the whole mess in the first place.
Truly, perhaps the bride herself was the best part of the marriage.
or: Daemon tries to make the best of his new marriage in an attempt to upset those he thinks responsible for him losing the title of heir, and finds out he might enjoy it more than he thought. Alicent is confused.

Summary
This is the various conlang dialogue I translated for HBO's House of the Dragon. The main language featured in the show is High Valyrian. The High Valyrian language is technically an a posteriori artlang based on words and ideas that come from George R. R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire series, but the language is probably better understood as a priori with some input from a second author.
