Here’s the thing: Otto’s divine protection is really, really simple.
It’s communicating with animals. That’s it. He can hear their thoughts, and nudge them a bit, and that’s it. It’s simple.
The problem is that thoughts are not simple.
The bigger problem is that humans are animals, too.
Otto's divine protection is both more simple and more complex than it first appears, and things very quickly get messy.
