Summary
Set in the aftermath of Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty, V is a mercenary running out of time, options, and any reason to keep playing by someone else’s rules. The Relic is slowly killing her, and survival once again comes wrapped in conditions.
Drawn into the orbit of the Federal Intelligence Agency and President Rosalind Myers, V is sent into Dogtown to recover Songbird under the familiar pretense of possible salvation. Nothing is guaranteed. Nothing ever is.
When V realizes how easily she can be sacrificed and how expendable she has always been, she makes a calculated, irreversible decision. She betrays them.
Instead, she turns to Dogtown, a district ruled by Kurt Hansen, a warlord and former Militech colonel whose honesty is as brutal as it is rare in Night City. V does not believe Hansen is good. She believes he is effective. And for the first time, that feels safer than promises from people who already consider her dead.
What follows is the slow, dangerous unraveling of a truth that could destabilize not only Dogtown, but V herself. V confronts autonomy, freedom, and the cost of choosing love in a world that does not reward it, and where loss is inevitable rather than born of betrayal.

Their time was running out: there were, probably, mere hours left before Scion’s next attack. His last attack and their final fight. And that was the reason why Taylor initially decided to try and recruit the Endbringers to help – what else was left? But even in her wildest dreams Taylor couldn’t imagine that the scariest of them, the Hope-Killer, would react to Eidolon’s death that way. That Eidolon in his unconscious desire gave her not only the urge to fight him. That, maybe, Simurgh could be a real ally after all; and that Simurgh could possess some humanity in the face of the apocalypse as well.
