Summary
Whoever or whatever had cursed Wu Ming must have been a creature of immeasurable power and perverse cruelty. On top of that, they were clearly mocking the Heavenly Realm, creating such a horrid replica of the punishment that was designed to tame the divine and applying it to the undead.

Summary
Wei Ying had intentionally stacked her first day on the job and the matchmaker appointment so that she could get her nerves over and done with, and so she could be distracted until the appointment. Those aren’t points Lan Zhan needs to know, though. She looks up to wink at her, but finds Lan Zhan’s face has darkened considerably. From this close she can even get a slight whiff of the alpha’s disapproval. Something acrid.
All Lan Zhan says is, “I have noted your work ethic,” and turns to her station, dismissive.
Wei Ying’s jaw drops, but she quickly picks it back up in the shape of a smile. “Oh, you’ll see my work soon enough.”

Summary
Escape or death.
The first explosion rocks the complex scant minutes after he leaves the room, Xue Yang's boredom finally winning out over Jin Guangyao's insistence at their attendance. Wei Wuxian has only the breath of a moment to wish fleetingly that he had set the timer a bit longer. The first charge is set as far from the conference and attendees as possible, to be the most confusing. A second goes off in the opposite direction, then a third, further south.
Everything erupts into movement, the guards scrambling at the explosions, the guests starting to emerge from the hall in a clump of confused, controlled panic as the charges continue to detonate. It’s now or never.
Escape or death.
He flees.
Taken at the end of the Sunshot War and forced into servitude to the Jin, Wei Wuxian makes a desperate escape attempt during a Federation conference. Though the universe (and his family) think he's dead - that he has been dead for 13 years - he has no choice but to try to escape. To find his freedom, to stop the Jin, and maybe to prevent another war.

Summary
Formerly dead mad scientist Wei Ying wakes up to find his consciousness has been transferred into an android body. To make matters worse, it took a little longer than expected. 113 years longer, to be exact.
Well, this is inconvenient, but at least now he knows that his consciousness transfer works. Now he just needs to test the system. Dexterity? Mental faculties? Emotional capability?
Solid. He’d be worried about the emotion/empathy chip. He’s only used one other on one of his earlier projects, the Lan Wangji Bot, and that had been an unmitigated disaster.
His Golden Core Power Cell is a different story. It's faulty, and he needs to get it fixed before he ends up dead. Again.
So he heads back to his warehouse at Cloud Recesses, but what he finds is surprising: in the 113 years he's been offline (so to speak) the androids have developed their own culture. A shitty one, by his estimate, as the 3 Laws of Robotics have been expanded to over 4000 rules. But that's not the only surprise he's in store for, because the Lan Wangji bot is acting strange.
