He felt the heat return to his cheeks, “Shut up.” He insisted, “If that were the case, I’d be in his position, wouldn’t I?”
Sasuke nodded emphatically, “That’s true. Then, I suppose, it’s just reserved for me now?”
Or, Sasuke and Naruto are a little misguided, but really, they're just in love.

Naruto picks up on the burning incense in the air, head whipping towards Sasuke once more, “Woah, what!”
Sai purposely leans into the width of Naruto’s arms, the bandaged arm that hoisted him up, slides down to the smooth arch of his back.
“Is there a problem?”
Or: Sasuke visits Konoha and comes to the realization that the village has fallen in love with the last person he expects.

Naruto's lips press firmer against him, and he croaks, "You brighten my life too." Sasuke pulls back, skeptically, and Naruto explains, cradling his face, "Not in the literal sense, but. You bring me calm. My life's always been chaotic and loud, and silence has been terrifying and lonely."
"You bring comfort to my silences; it's easy to exist in them with you by my side. I like to think that's a type of brightness, expanding my horizons." Sasuke's chest beats harder.
Naruto beams then, as if he's reminiscing about the past few weeks. Kissing him lightly, “You’re so stupid to think I’d ever want anyone else.”

“He’s not paying attention,” said Kiba from across the room, on the bottom bunk of another bunk bed. Lee was above him. “Actually, none of us want to listen to this.”
“Um, I had to listen to him when he was wailing about Ino.”
“I don’t know what to tell you,” said Kiba. “Just ask him? If you really wanna do that? God, ew, I hate this discussion.”
“You guys are so useless.”
“Hey, man,” said Lee. “No one’s gonna suck it for ya.”

Summary
Sasuke doesn't have much interest in other people, so he chooses the biggest slacker in class as his lab partner in the hopes that he'll let him do all the work with minimal interaction. Biggest, best mistake of his life.
“Oh, no,” groaned Sasuke, face-down on his bed. Naruto was sitting on the floor playing League with his laptop in a tank-top with his high-tops on. He had a plug-in mouse he used for particularly strenuous games, and it was clicking away fit to give Sasuke a tension headache.
“What’s ‘oh no?’” asked Naruto, craning his neck to see Sasuke. On screen his little character blew up.
“Are we friends?” said Sasuke. “No, don’t say anything. We’re friends. I made a friend. Oh, fuck me, Itachi’s going to have a field day.”Series
