    Shen Qingqiu had been certain, the night before, as he’d let himself drift, that he would never wake again. Instead, he was awake. He could feel sunlight on his face. He had all his limbs, and the bed was soft, and there was no pain save, perhaps, the deep, pleasant burn of muscles well-exercised.

    And there was a hand touching him.


    After his death as Luo Binghe’s prisoner, the original Shen Qingqiu wakes up in Scum Villain’s universe, in the same body Shen Yuan trasmigrated into. A body Shen Yuan has not vacated.

    Faced with a world in which all it took for his sect to thrive, for Yue Qingyuan to live and for Luo Binghe to avoid turning into the scourge of the realms was for someone to take his place and live his life in his stead, Shen Jiu finds himself having to confront old hurts, his own accountability and the inevitability of human (and demonic) nature.

    Shen Yuan transmigrates during the previous generation of Cang Qiong, and despite being totally mediocre (or so he thinks) he ends up becoming the Head Disciple of Qing Jing Peak. Shen Yuan decides to try and live his life to the best of his ability, avoid the scum villain when he makes his inevitable appearance, and grow stronger so he can stay alive long enough to be able to see his favourite protagonist in the flesh - and then escape so he's not killed when Luo Binghe takes over the world.

    But, of course, the plot has got to plot, and nothing ever goes according to plan.
