“Is that so?” Any softness lingering in Fennec’s expression faded as a sly smile began to overtake her lips. “And here I was, thinking you just missed me.”
Hunter’s brow rose. He let out a huff as the tip of her bold flame began to lick at him, burning him in a way he had found himself missing. It was familiar. Tempting. Almost relieving.
It was dangerous. She was dangerous. But when he was the only one who could get hurt, it was even harder to stay away from the heat of her fire.
This pain was comfortable, and for the first time in a long time, Hunter let himself lean into it.
When Hunter's injured after his and Wrecker's outing with Fennec Shand, he receives a helping hand he hadn't expected, one that offers much more than just a simple remedy.
