The metal creature shrieked to a stop right beside her hiding place. The noise made her fur puff out in alarm. A flap on its far side swung open and slammed shut with a loud bang! She shrank back as a human burst into the rain, paws splashing in puddles, shouting something she couldn’t make out. Another flap opened on the near side, and a second human climbed out, this one holding a hand over its head as if that could keep it dry. Foolish human.
“Jake!” the second one shouted, voice sharp but worried. “What the hell are you doing, baby, you’re gonna get soaked!”
The first human—Jake, apparently—was still scanning the ground. “I think I saw a cat!” he called back.

"- Yeah," Bradley cut her off voice dripping in sarcasm. "I know she wants her magic trick back."
"What the fuck was that?"
Bradley shrugged, "Animals like me."
Jake scoffed before he could stop himself. "That's not a thing."
Bradley looked at him then, with big brown eyes. Not offended or defensive.
Amused. Challenging, Jake landed on.
"Well," Bradley said lightly, "that one certainly liked me."
Everybody notices that something is odd about how animals treat Bradley Bradshaw...
