Beside him, Hermione scoffed. “So a ridiculous superstition then?” she questioned. Hermione had never been one to believe in anything that couldn’t be proven.
Alicia laughed. “Call it what you want, Hermione,” she said, seemingly not offended by Hermione’s bluntness — Alicia was too happy today for that. “But if you ever find yourself kissing a friend on Halloween, you’ll understand.”

Hermione didn’t take her eyes off of her otter, feeling an incredible attachment to it as she watched the unmistakable stag approaching her Patronus; the bigger animal stared down, unmoving, before bowing to the little creature, letting it climb to its horns and rest there.
Harry’s eyebrows lifted to his hairline. “That’s new.”

Summary
“Fuck does he think he’s doing?” Barret grunted, glowering as he watched Cloud hunched over, gathering and binding a collection of goddamn plants. It had been going on for at least two days now and had become increasingly more infuriating the further it went. At first, Barret didn’t realise what was happening; Cloud would lag and, honestly, Barret hadn’t put much thought into why. Who cared what the merc was up to so long as he didn’t fall too far behind? Eventually, it started getting out of hand, though. Cloud could barely walk an hour without finding something new to forage—botanist bull crap if you asked Barret. Not that anyone had. That in itself was irritating.
“I don’t know, I think it’s quite cute,” Aerith said.
Barret finds Cloud's gathering irritating. The rest of the party does not agree. (Set during the Grasslands in Rebirth so I guess very very minor spoilers?)
