Phoenix’s laughter dies, turning into a soft smile with gentle eyes to match. “Is it everything you’ve dreamed of?” He asks, looking up to where Miles is still stroking his hair. “Longing to spread my fingers between those phoenix’s fiery feathers.”
Miles glares at him, although he knows he’s too happy for it to have any bite to it. “It’s betwixt, you dimwit.” He feels his expression turn a little more teasing, a little more hungry. “And I can think of numerous places I’d like to spread my fingers in regards to you,” he says, and it comes out like a purr.

Summary
She passes a good chunk of books, her eyes finally landing on a simply designed, yet elegant cover. The book is a hardcover—primarily a darker shade of blue, yet the spine of the book is a dull red, like a burgundy. There’s also a golden phoenix drawn; its wings covered in flames. Pearl picks the book up, inspecting it closer.
‘Necessary Confessions of a Burning Heart’ by Benjamin Hunter…I’ve never heard of this author before.

Poetry has a way of touching people's hearts—Phoenix just wishes Pearl's new favorite collection of poems wasn't so pretentious.

Kind of a gorgeous character study, in book club form. The fic starts and ends with Pearls, who is written so beautifully here, and take a side trip to Narumitsu country, complete with Phoenix causing some angst (and comfort). Enjoy with tea and strawberry macrons if you have them :)

One of the best ‘Actual Phoenix Phoenix’ stories I’ve read. There is just something about the way the author writes the voices that just clicks. The story is an intriguing one and I hope they come back to complete it soon! Even though it is not complete, it is still worth the read for all mental imagery and premises (premesi?) it gives you. The first chapter could be a stand alone story. Mile and Phoenix meet as children and share some significant secrets with each other.

Summary
The crime scene that Miles Edgeworth finds himself on is a strange one. The culprit didn't leave behind any clues to point to their identity except for one- a decisive witness who'd viewed the whole murder firsthand.
A witness who also happened to be a living, breathing firebird who introduced himself as Phoenix.
With Phoenix's aid, Miles works to find enough evidence to bring this murderer to justice, all while slowly learning more about his strange new investigative partner.

This au fic is sooo layered, so creative, sooo…. I haven’t come anything like it. It honours the games and characters by following canon touchstones, but through a new lens. Miles, Maya, and oooh Phoenix, are just written so sweetly and charismatically. Great dialogue, great emotional moments, and the foreshadowing and Easter eggs just so generously given! I imagine the authors’ living quarters are wall papered with stickies and red strings cross-crossing to multiple rooms to keep track of them all.
Also read if you like cliff hangers. Around chapter 20, the author evolves into the GOAT of cliff hanger crafters.

Maya and Franziska have reached their collective limit. Somehow, in the vast amount of years that the two idiots they call their brothers have known each other, neither one has come to the startlingly obvious confusion that there isn't a human between them.
Somehow, through incredibly pining and impressive obliviousness, both Phoenix and Miles have missed the horrifically blatant hints that the other is a supernatural creature, convinced their longing for the other must remain only that.
Surely, Maya and Franziska think, there has to be something they can do to end their own suffering.
