If I had a nickel for every time the Spirits froze a boy into an iceberg for a hundred years while they're having a life crisis moment and then they unfreeze in just enough time to stop the war, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice.

Summary
Loki’s cell was broken during the skirmish in the dungeons and he escapes. However, instead of taking his flight he rushes to his Mother to bid her farewell and see to her safety. He finds her captive to Malekith and about to be killed or kidnapped. In desperation for her safety he offers himself instead, however Malekith makes a different call and takes both. This is a tale of the love between Mother and Son through suffering and hardship.

Thor shifted. Just a twitch. A small one. The kind of movement you made when your body dreamed of warmth and reached for it before your mind caught up. He mumbled something against his arm. Then his eyes cracked open. They glowed blue in the darkness of the room, not with lightning, but the blue of the sky they would gaze up to together. It’s the same blue as their mother’s eyes.
He smiled. “Loki?” he murmured, voice hoarse and drowsy. “What’re you doing here?” That was all. Not a startle. Not a shout. No reaching for a weapon or calling for guards. Just his name, spoken like it was something soft, something safe, followed by a stupid, sleepy smile.
And Loki- Loki shattered.

He wouldn't be able to keep this up, would he?
He'd thought that he was determined enough. That he had killed off any sympathy that might have started growing in his soul for these two creatures, but the damn near permanent loss of Subject 1 had proven him wrong once again.
There would be a lot for him to think about tonight.

Summary
After an inglorious defeat at the hands of Asgard, Laufey seizes the opportunity for revenge and kidnaps Odin's only son. He does not, expect, however, for his own son to take such a liking to the young Thor - or for one touch of Loki's hands to turn Thor Jotun blue. The two grow together, reigning beloved and terrible in Jotunheim, until one day a delegation from Asgard arrives to tear everything apart.
