Summary
They were best friends, and had been since high school, but recently Chan had developed a hopeless little crush on Hyunjin—though, perhaps it wasn’t so ‘little’ anymore—and ever since he’d been horrendously nervous and awkward around him.
Despite it being unlikely that Hyunjin even noticed, it bothered Chan down to his core. He’d tried everything to suppress his feelings, from denying them to outright avoiding Hyunjin, but nothing had worked; and with his affectionate pranks, Hyunjin wasn’t making it easy.

Chan looks at Hyunjin like he is a masterpiece.
Which doesn’t make sense, because Chan doesn’t love Hyunjin. He doesn’t love Hyunjin like a friend, because they haven’t known each other long enough for such a familiarity. He doesn’t love Hyunjin like that, because their relationship—if you can even call it that, and frankly Hyunjin doesn’t think you could—is a transaction. It’s not real.
But here, as they sit next to each other on the grass of the museum’s rooftop bar, it feels like it could be. And that terrifies Hyunjin most of all.

Chan slowly swivels around in his chair to blink at him. The sleep deprivation must be getting to him; he couldn't have possibly heard right.
