Summary
Dean wants his brother back in his life; he wants to forgive Sammy for doing magicks as a kid and move on. When he finds Sam, however, he learns his brother is still practicing magicks and is learning from a much more powerful witch.
When that witch stirs up the innate magicks that were hiding within Dean, it becomes clear he's going to have to choose between the world of absolute good and evil his father has presented and the world of grays and blurred lines Castiel wants to show him.
Can it really be so simple as practicing magicks and still being a good hunter, a good person?
Probably not.
OR
A Witch/Familiar AU that leans into as many tropes as possible, including Castiel as a white witch in love with plants and bees, and Dean discovering he's a kick ass familiar. It has some angst and some action sequences, but is ultimately a coming-of-age love story about finding out who you're meant to be.

“Bet it’s a bonding thing.”
Castiel looks up.
“Hmm?”
Dean gestures his fork toward Castiel, chewing and swallowing.
“What Rowena said. About power. You think it had something to do with our bonding?”
He plucks at their connection for emphasis. Castiel can never forget it’s there, an easy humming energy.
“I dunno. Maybe it...maybe I affected you somehow. That’s why you’ve been struggling.”
“That’s—no. Dean, there’s no possible way you’re the cause of this. If anything—”
He stops abruptly. Dean looks up.
“What?”
“Dean,” Castiel breathes. “You’re a genius.”

Summary
Dean visits his childhood home - Bobby’s and Ellen’s place - for Christmas. His brother just got engaged to Jess, everyone is happy and Dean flees outside into the snow because he loves their happy, but he also can’t take it. Not when his own happiness had been so close, living in the house next door actually, and he’s lost that person and that happiness 10 years ago. But of course he can’t resist venturing out into the snow to see whether the old walkway they’d built between two trees to bridge the fence between their lives still exists. The question is: Is he the only one who still remembers?
