Summary
Missing Chris is less of an emotion these days and more of a physical entity. He’s sure everyone can see that he’s slowly hollowing himself out, that he can’t do much of anything else.
But when Jee laughs at him trying to get his tongue to touch his nose, and Mara loops one of her arms through his to keep him from tossing the rest of his cup in the garbage, Eddie feels solid again.
Maybe he likes yellow birthday cake ice cream after all.
(or, gerrard messes with the team's schedules and eddie 'i just drove my son to flee the state' diaz is the only option to watch mara and jee-yun after school on tuesdays, which, shouldn't be a problem at all, right?)

Summary
Bobby half-heartedly tried to decorate for Christmas but all he could think of was the lawsuit Buck served him a few weeks ago. He’d be angry and frustrated with the younger man any other time of the year but pulling a stunt like this so close to the holidays added an extra layer to his emotions. Bobby’s anger was amplified but so was this somber feeling he couldn't quite place.
Or
What if the law suite arc happens during the holiday season. And how it effects Buck and Bobby mainly.

Eddie shrugs. “We can just order in, it's fine.” He turns to look at Buck, mirrors his position from his spot next to the sink. “You do know you don’t have to cook every night, Buck.”
“I feel bad.” Buck admits. “I’m staying over, you buy groceries, you do laundry, you drive us to work. I wanna repay you somehow.”
Eddie shakes his head. “You’re staying over because I asked you to. I do those things because you’re my best friend and I want you to be comfortable. You don’t have to do anything to repay me.” He pauses, looks right at Buck. “You do enough by just existing by my side.”
(or, buck offers his apartment to bobby and athena, and living with eddie is easy.)

“Hen, I think there’s something deeply wrong with me.”
Her eyes grow concerned at once.
“Oh? Do you have an upset stomach from the sushi we had last night? I swear it tasted odd.”
“No, that’s not—” Buck struggles. But then, wait… “Okay, actually, yeah, my stomach is upset but it’s upset at the thought of Eddie dating guys. Got any medicine for that?”
There’s a long pause, during which Hen just stares at him as though she’s never seen him before.
“Are you coming out as homophobic right now?”

OR Buck’s loft gets flooded, making him temporarily move in with Eddie, who’s out and about dating guys now, apparently, and Buck tries to figure out why the hell the thought makes him sick.

“Are we going to talk about it, then?” Hen says, her voice amused.
Eddie turns the page of his book. “Talk about what?” he asks, his words a deliberate sort of quiet, as if he’s worried about waking Buck up. And God, if that doesn’t make the ache around Buck’s heart pulse.
“The 6’5 giant using your lap as a pillow?”
Okay, great. Now Buck is not only taking advantage of his best friend, but he’s doing it while eavesdropping on a conversation about him that they all think he’s too asleep to hear.
