They both stared at the bed in the Inn, entirely unremarkable in every way. With a shuddering sigh, Daine approached it and sat on the edge. The assortment of expressions on her face was complicated. He could catch momentarily glimpses of embarrassment but also something much sadder.
It would be true to say that this was something he’d fantasized about for years. It would also be true to say that, considering the circumstances, he wasn’t even sure he’d be able to maintain an erection.
