Summary
5 years into his journeys into the wilderness John Dory returns home only to find it destroyed and his family gone. Assuming the worst he isolates himself in the woods. His life changes when Hickory stumbles upon him needing help. The two of them build a life together, going from friends to more in the span of a few years. Hickory promises to marry him someday and John is the happiest he's ever been in years. His old fear catches up with him however and he grows convinced that he should go and look for his brothers on the chance that they did escape all those years ago. He pushes Hickory away, not wanting to destroy another family and convinced that he is fine on his own.
Years later he reconnects with his brothers, not expecting to find a familiar face in town.

20 years ago John Dory ran away from the troll tree to escape Brozone's former manager and the abuse he was facing but couldn't talk to anyone about. He didn't know he was pregnant at the time. Now he's reunited with his brothers but doesn't know how to tell them about the abuse he faced as a teenager or about his adult children who very much want to meet their uncles.

Summary
Branch wasn’t as tactile compared to other trolls. Far from it. Touch was something he was still relatively new to, and it was something he seldom initiated himself. Despite that, it didn’t stop those around him to come to his side, sneaking in gentle touches whenever they could, all while respecting his boundaries and not pushing too much. It became a silent game, of who could hold him, ruffle his hair and just hang around him the longest until he’d eventually push them away without any real bite.
