Summary
Alastor and Vox had slowly formed quite the friendship over the decades. Quality company was rare these days, and despite his initial standoffishness, Alastor actually now looked forward to the picture-box’s company. Not that he’d ever tell him that.
Vox, for his part, was head over heels in love with the untouchable Radio Demon. No one needed to tell him that telling Alastor was a terrible idea, so on his end, he swore to never tell him that.
They drink, they laugh, they enjoy each other’s company. Vox didn’t know what made him do it, he knew it was a bad idea. Maybe it was the uncharacteristic softness of Alastor’s expression. Maybe it was the way his ears, usually held proudly upright, drooped to either side in his drunkenness. Maybe it was the unfairly musical sound of Alastor’s laugh, at something Vox said, that made the storm in his chest absolutely churn. Maybe it was all of those things, but in a moment of hazy judgment, freer hands, and Alastor’s scent tickling his senses, Vox kisses him.
Alastor, to both of their shock, doesn’t… hate it.
He begins to learn a lot about himself.

“...And how was it?” Alastor murmurs, soft.
“Sweet. Warm too, he was still fresh when I licked the knife. Couldn't keep the taste out of my mouth for days, it clung to my throat– made me think of you, again.”
The building heat deep inside him curls, and Vincent just notices his hands have slipped to Alastor's vest – he has them wrapped around that sinful waist, feeling the pulse under his palms. He can feel every shift of Alastor's muscles, everything. It's a delirious feeling that makes him lightheaded.
He gasps. “God– Alastor… Wish I could taste you, too.”
Amidst the numerous research papers and the bonding ritual, Vincent proves to Alastor that he can be good.
Vincent discovers the depths of his own desires and learns to decipher a bit more of Alastor's signs.

“Ignore him, V.”
It was a simple task, by all means. An easy way to finally get rid of his pesky feelings once and for all. It’d most likely work too. If Vox would just ignore the man, forget he ever existed, Vox would be happier. It was a good coping mechanism. Moving on from the man who plagued his thoughts—made his life miserable.
Velvette suggested that very idea now. Valentino had echoed that sentiment many times in the past. Honestly, Vox told himself the same thing a million times per day as well. Three people in his life (if he counted himself, and he did) telling him to ignore the Radio Demon. Telling him to move on, forget, never think about him again.
It was never that easy, though. Especially when Vox didn’t want to move on from Alastor—deep down, he didn’t even know what not obsessing over him would feel like. It would be atypical, unlike what his teammates seemed to think about his normal being the atypical part of himself. But when Velvette mentions something that peaks his interest, well, Vox can’t help but want to try to ignore Alastor one last time.
