Summary
Mortals did not belong in the fae realm, not even those as long lived as him. The Library was an infinite, sprawling mass of knowledge that Jon has come to learn since he was eight, but he never quite blended in with the books and tomes like other patrons did.
Jon had taken to recording his thoughts to keep his mind straight. He was blessed, but even blessings have their limits. Jon wasn’t a child anymore. He would slowly go insane without the protection granted by the fae realm to children.
He needed to leave, no matter what he thought about it.

A chill ran up his spine from the coolness of the mini manmade cave. Jay rubbed his arms to bring a little warmth.
That's weird, he thought. It’s never bothered me before.
To be completely honest, Jay had been feeling…well, off. He checked his temperature so he was fine physically. He shrugged it off, assuming that he just woke up on the wrong side of the bed. It’s the reason why he suggested to the tournament actually. It was a way to lift his spirits without too much suspicion. And it worked, obviously, but only for a little bit.
But his stomach was churning and his muscles were tense, waiting for the other shoe to drop.
But there’s no shoe, he told himself. Everything is normal.
Or, Things go horribly wrong for Jay at the mall.

You should have seen the place when I came up– it was a bit of a wreck, honestly, a real sad sight– but I'd like to think I've got it cleaned up at least a bit now. But there were some outbuildings already on the property when I moved in. You know, a chicken coop, a well, that kind of thing. I thought I might as well try to rent out the old farmhand cabins, see if anyone would be interested in moving in. Not like I'd be using all that space by myself, you know?"
