Aziraphale did not ask for help. Never had, never would, not even after six thousand years of their little truce-slash-friendship. Not even when he most needed it.

Summary
It took a lot for Aziraphale to finally give in and give Crowley the thermos of Holy Water, and when he does, he is ladden with guilt. He can only hope that he doesn't use it on himself.
In this storyline, Sergeant Shadwell takes just a minute longer to run to Mr. Fell's bookshop and misses Aziraphale after he runs to Crowley's flat. Meanwhile, Crowley is driving (if you can call it driving) to the bookshop. Aziraphale finds the demon goop and his thermos of Holy Water in Crowley's empty flat, his best friend gone. Crowley finds the bookshop in flames, his best friend gone.

Summary
Over the years Crowley had rescued Aziraphale from danger. Time and time again. This arrangement made both parties very happy. Crowley would get a wonderful sense of doing good, and Aziraphale would get a wonderful sense of knowing that his demon was doing good, despite what he might claim.
But once again, Aziraphale reached a point where he felt the need to return the gesture. So he vowed that whenever Crowley was in danger, he'd be the one to save him.
When Aziraphale gets his offer rejected by Crowley, he doesn't let it faze him. The angel decides that he alone will be able stop Heaven, and when he does, he'll win Crowley back. Unfortunately, unforeseen obstacles complicate Aziraphale's plan.

Summary
The Metatron’s laughter stutters to nothing and his smile shifts into something of a sneer. “What is it that you choose, then?”
Aziraphale can’t help it. He’s always been a bit of a bastard. He spares a look at Crowley, who looks at him in turn. Crowley’s face doesn’t so much as twitch, a skill perfectly honed out of necessity when one works for the likes of Hell, but Aziraphale can see the overwhelming dread all the same. He and Crowley both know what he’s about to do, and only one of them has the power to stop it.
“Angel?” Crowley mouths silently, anxiously.
Aziraphale takes two steps back. His heel pivots on the edge of The Void. “Don’t!” Crowley goes to bolt forward, but the guards hold him back. “No! Don’t do this!”
“Come and find me, my dear.”
He falls back.
“AZIRAPHALE!”
