Jim Gordon doesn’t go out drinking much.
There are eight million reasons for that, starting with his complete lack of spare time and his family history of alcoholism and continuing all the way to the fact that since he became Commissioner, he can’t really walk into a cop bar without ruining the night off for everybody there.
Also, pretty much all his friends are either dead or a thousand miles away, and Batman really doesn’t go out for drinks.

It would be inaccurate to say that Perry T Platypus has never formed strong attachments, but it would be fair to say that the twenty years he spent as OWCA’s roving lone wolf didn’t exactly lend itself to having many of them, especially of the romantic variety. It should therefore be of no surprise that when he begins to develop feelings for, of all people, his nemesis, he… doesn’t exactly realize it immediately.

Ah, jeez, these kids were going to be the end of him. Perry scrubbed away tears already pooling, and schooled his face into the most casual expression he could. He shoved his hands into his pockets- casual, casual- and stepped onto the roof.
“Hey guys, what’d I miss?” he said-
“Uncle Perry!”
-and found himself almost immediately at the bottom of a pile of kids.
“You came back,” Phineas said, squeezing best his tiny arms could manage.

Summary
For Roger, most problems revolved around his brother. This one was no different.
What happens when half the buildings in Danville just happen to get turned into fog and everyone needs a place to sleep?
Roger is already at his wit's end with Heinz, and the night is just beginning. Except it doesn't go quite the way he imagined it would because Heinz may have forgotten to mention he has trouble sleeping at night, especially when a certain platypus is supposed to be with his owners.(Or: At two am, the screaming started, the fanfic.)
