Summary
When Hera saw an opportunity to protect the New Republic from a potential threat she took it. After all, what was one man’s happiness compared to keeping the Republic safe? Especially since the man in question was hardly innocent.
Now she has managed to convince the galaxy of Thrawn's death, she needs to break the news to him that the life he has known is over.
As she slowly comes to realise, she didn't really know the Grand Admiral at all.(This is a sequel to “Warrior’s Fortune” which has developed a life of its own. Wyll stood in the cool squalor of night, nursing a sad goblet of the tiefling refugees’ best wine as he stewed in his own misery.
Just days ago, he had been nestled among them, teaching their children the necessary tools of defense. In the days after the mind flayers had forced an Illithid tadpole into his eye, Wyll found himself scrambling for purpose — to find a way to prove himself useful despite the horror that had chased him. Summary
The missing year between Series 2 and Series 3, from the perspective of everyone's favourite (possibly immortal?) background knight...
Adventure, dragons, battles, bromance, rescuing maidens, an unusually high work-related mortality rate: your classic Merlin red-cloak-knightly stuff. Definitely no sorcery at all (*ahem*).
Be warned that there is both graphic violence and depiction of the psychological aftermath.Written as a present for a friend; got a bit out of hand. Blame/thank her for posting. Bonus points to anyone who spots the very geeky Arthurian easter eggs!
