So Shouta wasn’t captured for ransom and wasn’t about to be tortured for information, it just seemed like it was good old fashioned payback. Where his drawn out pain was the end game. Perhaps even his death if rescue didn’t happen. Not how he imagined spending his time.

Shouta didn’t have some grand speech figured out, didn’t plan any fancy dinner or elaborate scheme. Hadn’t even planned on doing this tonight. None of the supposed traditional ways sat right with him, especially not with the secrecy of their jobs to take in consideration. They didn’t need some unnecessary audience for this. Not when he was about to give physical proof that Toshinori held his heart and that he wanted to spend the rest of their lives together. Shouta never thought he’d be doing this, that he’d have this kind of love for someone, yet here he was, because it was Toshinori.
It would always be Toshinori for him.
Perhaps there was something magical about Christmas after all.

“There we go. That’s better.” A somewhat familiar voice purred, sounding too close.
That feeling of something wrong intensified, ratcheting Shouta’s heart against his ribs, though the sense of panic didn’t help in giving him the coordination to shrug off the sudden arm over his shoulders or the warm body pressing at his back keeping him from stepping away.
“Th’fuck… did you..?” Shouta wanted to snarl out, but his voice slurred and he felt unbalanced, like his brain was scrambled. His body leaned hard into the man’s side, feeling heavy. In some dark corner of his mind he knew they had drugged him. Must have slipped him something. His instincts had been dulled enough to not notice and now he was paying for his own lack of vigilance.

Summary
“Ride or Die”: Someone you would do anything for.
This mini-series is meant to showcase Shouta’s platonic/familial bond and friendship with Hizashi and Nemuri and vice versa. These take place pre-canon, when they are still in their early twenties, around 22 to 25 years of age. Before they start teaching at UA or canon events occur.
The first, "Steady Breath", focuses on Nemuri.
The second, "Smoke and Ash", focuses on Hizashi.
The third, "A Electrifying Reckoning", focuses on Shouta.
Each can be read as a stand alone.They are all written from Shouta’s third person perspective.
Mind the tags for all three, as they feature near-death, injuries, and torture themes.

Summary
"It's—it's Aizawa," Hitoshi says and his voice is shaking in a way that makes Hizashi's stomach drop out.
Hizashi reminds himself that he is Shouta's emergency contact, so if anything had happened to him Hizashi would have been called first, not Hitoshi, so whatever it is it can't be too serious.
At least Hizashi can hope.
"What is going on with Shouta?" he asks, trying to aim for a calm that he no longer feels.
"He's—sitting on the roof of our dorms," Hitoshi shakily says. "Right at the edge."

"Sorry is not going to cut it, not this time, you fucking villain," Tachibana informs him and something like resignation settles in Hitoshi's gut.
He's still scared out of his mind, still wants to plead and cry and run away, but deep down he knows that there's no stopping this.
Tachibana has clearly made up his mind and has taken Hitoshi latest infringement as a good enough reason to finally follow through.
It's been a while since the last beating, after all, and Hitoshi had been wondering when Tachibana would get that itch again.
The answer is very clearly right in front of him.

Summary
Shouta's eyes get caught on Hitoshi's empty chair during morning call and while he's immediately angry that Hitoshi would skip a class so carelessly, he can't deny that the worry far outweighs the anger.
Hitoshi had seemed out of it for the last two days, and now he's missing.
"Where's Shinsou?" he asks the class and is met with confused shrugs and searching glances at the table, as if he could pop up at any second now. "No one thought to check on him?" he asks, almost angry that the class wouldn't care for one of their own and Midoriya raises a hand. "Yes?"
"I stopped by his door this morning but he said he'd be late," Midoriya says and then bites his lower lip so Shouta stares some more at him to get him to talk. "He didn't sound too well," Midoriya admits as he ducks his head in shame and Shouta's eyes briefly flash red.

"Got called in for a new mission," Hitoshi mutters against Katsuki's skin and Katsuki fights the shiver that wants to go down his back.
"'s it bad?" Katsuki whispers back even though he can damn well tell with Hitoshi's reaction that it's a bad one and Hitoshi lets out a humourless chuckle that only makes everything worse.
"It's a suicide run. I'll die."
He says it as if it's already carved in stone, as if he's completely and utterly convinced that his death is the outcome and Katsuki tenses.

Hitoshi had made his peace with being a splatter on the ground the moment he fell over the edge, helplessly tangled up in so much debris that no normal person could ever even hope to stop it and then Bakugo happened.
It was a nice reprieve, but it's not going to help and they both know it.
The villain is still rampaging around and it's only a matter of time before he remembers Bakugo and Hitoshi and then Bakugo will have to let go of him, if he wants to save himself.
Which he should.
