“I’m telling you,” Arturo said excitedly, looking up from the screen he was monitoring. “Ghidorah’s making a radio. I did one of those make-an-AM-radio kits as a kid? He’s making the, the wire coil and everything.”

Nobody was listening to him. Everyone else in the Outpost 56-B trailer was crowded around Xochitl’s computer, watching Rodan sculpt a world globe. Big deal. They’d already figured out he was sculpting a globe. That was last hour’s news. The new mind-blowing titan activity was making a radio.

    Nobody cared.

    Summary

Rodan thinks it’s time to try teaching his alien nest guests about the geography of the planet they’re now living on, and starts making an object to help him do that; and meanwhile, Ghidorah attempts to tap into the humans’ radio broadcasts with some foraged tech.

Both of them wildly underestimate the level of technological advancement of each other’s projects.

    Summary

Ghidorah is taking a long, slow boat ride from Antarctica back to Isla de Mara, courtesy of a rather reluctant supercarrier. It is, they think, a fairly pleasant ride.

    Until Godzilla shows up.

And Ghidorah doesn’t even know how to properly diss him.

What did the little king matter to them, anyway? They were on a boat and he wasn't. They had free drinks. He wished he was on a boat with free drinks. After all he did to help the itty bitty creatures of this world, and they didn't appreciate him at all, did they? No. They gave free rides to their near-conqueror instead. Look. Gaze upon their glorious ride and despair.

    Summary

Creatures don't have kings; separate species don't share alphas; and if you're a creature taller than a building, then most likely, your primary concern is attempting to understand the different species that you share a world with.

And maybe, if you're lucky, making a connection with them.

... And maybe if you're not so lucky, beating them up.

(KOTM oneshots that share a single continuity, although not much else. Generally you don't need to read any to understand the others, although you'll learn about the headcanons/backstories/worldbuilding more if you do. If all you want is a big ol Rodorah slowburn told in chronological order in a series of oneshots, then check out this series's sub-series, Red Sprite & the Golden Ones.)

    Summary

If Rodan is going to help Ghidorah get acclimated to Earth, that means showing him around the neighborhood. Priority #1 is giving him a tour of the pteranodon superhighway: the Ring of Fire.

Mid-tour, it occurs to him that Ghidorah needs to start making some more local friends beyond Rodan. Maybe he should introduce them to Mothra while Godzilla isn’t around to start a fight? They’ve got so much in common, they’ll make great friends!

This definitely isn’t a terrible idea.

    Bookmarker's Notes

"Oh, so, you decided not to tell me I was being courted by an attempted murderer because—what—you hoped if I was oblivious, I'd reform them through the power of love before I found out about their past? Is that my part here? Am I in a murderer reformation program I was secretly volunteered for without being asked?"

Well, it sounded even more underhanded when he put it like that, but... Yes. More or less.

Trying to murder and trying to kill were very different things.

Murder was something premeditated. It was personal. It was based on a specific desire for a specific person to cease to exist.

Killing was something necessary. It was for food, for self defense, for territory. It had nothing to do with the other person, and everything to do with the killer meeting their own basic needs.
