Summary
Vampire of the Mists is a pretty crazy book with some wild implications about Barovia’s lore. But who has the time to read a mediocre book about vampires falling in love, I mean, fighting over, um, one girl who is not actually the same person? It turns out that, if you make it campy enough, I do! And I’ll even talk about it for hours on end!

Summary
Things go a little differently and, though he gets the Death Note back, Light is unable to kill L and is placed under house arrest. Nearly a year later, criminals start dying, and the two are pushed back together as the case is reopened; L needs to keep his primary suspect under surveillance, and the first Kira needs to find his would-be usurper.
Collaboration is made difficult by the fact that they were hooking up during the Yotsuba arc, and despite being geniuses, neither seem to have grasped proper communication.

When L awakens, Light decides hiding him in his apartment is the best way to keep him from revealing damning evidence to the task force. He does not consider that L might be angry or, worse, that Light might have missed him.

At least that hasn't changed.

It is no coincidence that this is also when Dipper's return to town takes place and, shortly thereafter, the return of that demon Mabel had really hoped was dead.
