“Why are your hands pretty? Why aren’t mine?” Dick asked as he waved his gray palms around.
His parents had looked at each other with fond smiles before they sat down and explained it all.
It made Dick feel a lot better, knowing his body wouldn’t be so gray for the rest of his life. That someday he would be as colorful as the circus itself. His parents said that they were really happy for him too, because they could tell he was going to be well-loved by a lot of people.
Dick was already well-loved as far as he was concerned, but if it made his parents happy then he was doubly happy.Series
