“Where is the station master?” Taehyung chimes in.
Namjoon blinks. “There’s only me. I’m the station master.” Privately, he thinks that the real station master is the woman on the phone since she decides when the trains come and go, but that is probably not the answer these people want.
“You can’t be the station master,” Yoongi states. “All station masters are geriatric. And no one would be crazy enough to leave someone like you in a place like this.”
Namjoon feels offended. Even though his job is so easy that anyone could do it, he likes to think that he is good at it. “I’m the station master,” he says again. “What do you mean, ‘someone like me’?”
“No offence,” Jin begins in a tone, which implies that he very much means offence, “But you look like a month old kitten that was dragged out of a litter and was told to live on its own.”
(or, namjoon is a lonely spirit, stuck in a tiny train station in the middle of nowhere until a motley crew of six strangers decide to adopt him into their fold.)

Summary
A classic collection of connected short stories featuring a temp manager filling in for BTS, being awful at it and then trying to blame Namjoon, only to have the other members defend him.
I love the all-of-BTS defending one-member trope, but I didn’t love how a lot of the ones I’ve seen with Namjoon dumb him down to need more help, so I didn’t do that. This is my first time posting on AO3, so please be nice :)

The first time BTS went to the BBMAs, Namjoon was certain his head would explode - or at the very least crack from the inside out - from the constant bombardment words being shot at him. It was too much; way too much.
