    Summary

Rook & Solas get thrown into the past to the Inquisition. Solas remembers nothing and Rook only has some of her memories. They share a bond and this changes everything. Plenty of Banter and smut. + Cassandra/Varric secondary romance.
    ___
Varric narrated: The Titans were restless. They dreamed of times past and of different worlds. Funny thing about stories like this. Everyone thinks they’re about gods and ancient monsters. The Dread Wolf. The Forgotten Ones. But when you get to the last page, you realize it was never really about them.

See our axe-grinding friend, the Forgotten One, thought to send Solas and Rook tumbling back to a time when Solas himself planned to destroy the very thing keeping him and the person he loved most alive.

To a little place in history you might have heard of. To the Inquisition.

Now if this were a tragedy, and believe me, I’ve written a few . . . you’d expect that to be the end of it. History repeating itself. Heroes failing. The old wolf tearing down the sky.

But history’s a funny thing when the people inside it decide not to follow the script.

And Rook? Stubborn doesn’t begin to cover it. But that, my friends, is this next story.

    Summary

    "You don’t deserve this.”
Solas just looks at Rook silently. There are no words, and he has never been uncomfortable with silence.
“You are tied to the veil. To the Fade.”
He keeps looking at her. It’s easy to have patience if you have eternity to fill.
“But you don’t have to stay wherever this is.”
Solas relents. “Technicially that is true. The Veil did not fall when the Evanuris escaped the Fade. Their lives were tied to the Veil. So as long as I live, the Veil should remain intact.”
“What about the Lighthouse? Is there some way?” Rook’s voice trails off.
“I have considered it. I have little else to do here. If there is a way to escape, I have yet to find it.” He gives her a small, sad smile. “It means a lot to know, however, that you have given it some thought.”
“So your only connection out of here is through me.”
“So it would seem.” There is a new speculative tone and a sudden intensity to Solas. He leans in closer to Rook. He's close enough to kiss. “Why do you care, Rook?”
Rook can’t breathe. She has never noticed how purple Solas’s eyes are. She feels too warm. There isn’t enough air and she no longer has any doubt about the effect he has on her.

    Summary

“I am a fool who finally met his match,” Solas had said, laughing as he was pulled into the Fade, bound to the Veil forever more. The heroes have won, the day is saved, and Rook has never been more miserable in her life.

You know what they say, “misery loves company” and Solas is only too happy to use their blood magic connection to remind Rook of that fact.

    Or

Rook dreams of Solas and she has a no good, very bad time of it.
