An awkward encounter in a safehouse leads Leon and Chris to re-examine their relationship, but they're both absolutely convinced that the other person doesn't feel the same. Sherry and Claire are eating popcorn and screaming on the sidelines.
"Claire, it's not funny!" Chris looks so genuinely distressed that Claire only laughs harder.
"Oh my god, yes, it is! You woke up cuddling him and panicked so hard he thought you were homophobic. That's the funniest thing I've ever heard!" There are tears in the corners of Claire's eyes as she settles down and takes a drink.

Leon did what he was supposed to. Save lives. Not openly talk about his trauma in a way that would make the govermnent look bad. Stays silent about his missing benefits and supposed-to-happen medical care; doesn't mention he never got that dental he was promised. Found a nice woman and started settling down between missions. A kid or two maybe, soon, just in time before the biological clock decides for them. He never questioned it, always did what he was supposed to do, aided by his bosses, followed the curve, lingered just enought to be mistaken for a sheep in society and not someone there against his own free will.
He's never questioned it. Never asked questions about himself - when would he ever have the time?
Things change though, something waking up in him when Claire's brother comes to stay, needing a place to lay low after a mission goes wrong. Where else could be safer than with Claire Redfield and Leon Kennedy?
Anywhere away from him, Leon thinks, as repressed memories finally starting coming back to his brain.
That's love made in the USA.
