Summary
Ilya sits on the hotel bed, an unlit cigarette in his mouth, and stares into nothing. He doesn’t know how much time passes this way. He doesn’t want to know. He doesn’t want anything, not really. Hollander left, taking Ilya’s ability to want anything with him. Ilya hates him for that. Still, he hates himself more.
A thousand years later, he hears his phone vibrating in another room. Normally, he would’ve missed such a quiet noise, but not now. Not in this fucking perfectly, horribly still hotel room. Ilya hears it, but doesn’t care.
