    Summary

Forcing himself not to roll his eyes, Batman explains before the other can get any fantastical ideas about kidnapped children in his head. "This is my pup. Due to unforeseen circumstances, he will be secretly joining us at our meeting tomorrow. You're the only one who would've been able to detect him, so I figured it would be better to let you know beforehand."

    "You're a father?"

Batman nods, "Some would even say I'm a mother."

"You're an omega?" Superman asks, baffled. He composes himself quickly. "Sorry, I didn't mean—"

"It's alright. I would be shocked too. I don't exactly seem like the motherly type."

    Or

A timeline of Clark acting like a stepfather (the father who stepped up) throughout Dick's life, until he becomes one for real.

    Summary

Based off this Tumblr text post by s4mm4n:
God I miss the days when you could show up to a strangers farm and he’d say “Whats your name, boy?” and you’d take off your hat and hold it to your chest to better let him see your face and reply “Why I aint got one sir, on account of my mammy passed on before she could give me one” and he’d tell you he’s real damn sorry to hear that and ask what he can do for you and you’d tell him that you can’t read nor even write neither but you’re mighty good with horses and can mend them fallen fence posts what you saw on your way in and won’t ask for nothing much more than a hot meal and a warm barn to sleep in and he’d keep his wife and daughters inside but send his boy who aint for married even though his mama tells him he needs a woman out with a lantern and some stew at night and the two of you’d get to talking and he’d throw you his flask to take a swig from and watch you drinking from it while he leant against the door frame and when he finally got called back on up to the house again he’d take a sip from it too real slow-like like it weren’t the whiskey what he were tryna savor

    Summary

The last shot is accompanied by the trail of a cry, shrill, angry, fearful. Arthur lowers his revolver. Blinks. Tongues at a bloody tooth from getting hit while strangling an O’Driscoll, spits red mucus onto one of the bodies on the floor.

The crying starts up again, as if sensing Arthur’s confusion. For a moment, Arthur thinks it must be some poor lady these savages have taken alongside the house, but quickly knows it to be untrue. It’s too—wet, pointless in a way only the young can manage, knowing that something is wrong but not knowing what. Just a shout, not the bellowing anguish of someone who knows what god-awful situation they have been put in.

“Christ,” he says, once, twice. “Christ.”

    or

Arthur accidentally adopts a baby, and, despite his best judgement, ends up starting to raise him. He falls in love with Charles along the way.

    Summary

    Talk, talk, talk-

It was all everyone in camp did, but Arthur-

Arthur listened. Listened to him, a lone wolf, a "taciturn dimwit", as he'd been called more than once. The man with the broadest shoulders Charles' had ever seen, face marred by years of the life of an outlaw, looked to him every night over the fire and seemed to soften. Seemed to relax after a day's work- lord knows Arthur was one of very few who kept the entire gang from falling apart at the seams. All of his work, done day after day, he did without complaint. Without denial. It was just what needed to be done. The hunting, the skinning, the fishing, the foraging, the robbing, the stealing, the intimidating, it all had to be done and Arthur... Arthur always seemed to be the one doing it.

    Summary

“It don’t much matter what I want,” he says resolutely, crossing his arms tightly in the space between them. “‘M a dead man walkin’, there ain’t anythin’ left for me anymore.” Arthur can feel his resolve begin to waver; he trusts Dutch, truly trusts him, but he can’t deny that he’s had all the same thoughts that Charles is voicing. Guilt courses through him like a wildfire.

“Oh, you ain’t got nothing left? Bullshit,” Charles seethes, jaw muscles clenching tightly. “You got a whole family out there, a family that loves you.”
