Summary
Dick’s blood froze as he stared at the advancing man in numb horror. The panic from before curdled into something colder—dread. Terror. His throat clamped shut like a vice, air catching halfway up his windpipe. His muscles locked so tight it felt like invisible hands were squeezing the life out of him—the truth settling over him like a cold, suffocating weight.
This man wasn’t Zucco. The Captain wasn’t here, and Dick had woken up in an unfamiliar bed.
Bile rose in his throat.
There was only one explanation.
He had been sold.
And the man in front of him... was his new owner:
The Batman.
(in other words, Bruce is an emotionally constipated pirate who finds a small, terrified mer and thinks yeah, i should adopt him.)

Dick stands up fully and stretches before making his way over. Batman is standing with Diana, Clark and J’ohn. When he gets to where they're standing around he just decides to walk right up to Bruce and fall into him, wrapping his arms around him and resting his head on his dads chest. Bruce doesn't even hesitate wrapping his arms around him as well, giving him a tight squeeze.

What he doesn't expect is to suddenly care about this kid like he's his own, nor does Dick expect to ever feel safe in Gotham, let alone find himself a new family. But his trauma runs deep, and his recovery will take some time before anyone can truly give him the justice he deserves.

Dick needs help for a mission to break into The Watchtower. Unfortunately, when the mission goes sideways, Batman isn't present to bail him and his partner out.
It was a simple mission really. Oracle needed some data from The Watchtower. Unfortunately, Batman was off-world on a deep space mission when his communicator had gone offline. This wasn’t much cause for concern as he was with Clark and Diana, and this had happened several times over the past couple of years. However, Batman’s off-world status meant he couldn’t retrieve the data that Oracle needed.
Usually, she would just hack the system, but Tim had installed some new security measures, and Batman’s access codes were needed to bypass them with the bat computer. All of these factors partnered together into the outline for what should have been a straightforward mission. Keywords being should have been.

Summary

As his fame rises, the elites of the Clean City want to buy him, especially Clark Kent, a powerful collector of champions. When Dick is kidnapped, Bruce declares war.
While Dick fights to stay free, Jason nearly dies in the ring, and Tim begins a new path as Bruce’s heir in the upper world. But in a city built on blood and lies, no one escapes untouched.
