It had been a conversation about magic. Stories and life. He’d had a million questions, and he’d learnt more about his first dad than ever before. She brought out the invisibility cloak, made him promise to take care of it and pass it down to his future children. She showed him her wand, and even a few spells, though she had put her foot down and said it was the last time she’d ever do so.
When Harlan asked her why she even told him in the end, Pepper- Lily, had laughed.
“You deserved to know eventually. I was scared because of the war and what happened to James, but in the end I realised you were right in the middle of one anyway. Just because it wasn’t magic, it still happened. All I ever wanted was to protect you.”

Offering to die for someone-saying that you would, giving up your life for theirs-surely that’s meaningful, surely that’s supposed to mean something, show a devotion in a wholly unique way.
But Izuku is learning otherwise. Death isn’t much of a commitment-it’s there and over. Here and gone, without having to deal with any consequences, just getting something over with.
No, it’s offering to live for someone that’s so much harder. That takes effort, that takes dedication and work to maintain. Izuku’s starting to learn just how much effort it takes.
But if nothing else, he can do this. He’ll live for them, if he can’t give them anything else, he’ll give them that. He will stay alive.
Of course, that goal is getting harder to maintain by the day when it seems like the world is hell bent on making him break his promises-but he’s fine. He just needs to keep pressing forward and push away the past. He can be fine. And he will stay alive. For them.Ex-vigilante Izuku works his way through class 1-A with Dadzawa at his side. What more could you ask for?

It only took a couple more years of abuse, discrimination, and arson for Izuku Shimura to enter U.A. ready to become a hero.

Summary
Midoriya Izuku leads a double life. During the day he can be Midoriya, Deku, the green sunshine child. After dark his training kicks in though and Izuku follows the call of his family. Akatani Mikumo has a duty to protect in the underground, a duty to keep children safe and stop all non consentual acts. Does that make him a vigilante in the eyes of the police? Yes. But it will also help him to become a hero and help more people.
The only possible issue is how dorm life doesn't give Izuku enough exercise during his Mikumo times... but for sure his teachers can help out with that.- Words:
