She knew Galinda Upland would be a thorn in her side from the moment she saw her, Uplands are known for their entitlement. She reasoned ignoring her would be enough, she should have known better. Now the girl has somehow latched onto her protégée.

Beatrice went out of her way to ignore the mark on her neck. She ignored every question Camila, who was the only one out of her friends that had decided not to ignore her soul mark even with Beatrice's glare and continued dismissal, asked.
She would never meet or fall in love with her soulmate, whoever he was. She could not. She would not.
So she ignored it. And she would continue to do so for the rest of her life.
That is, until, she is sent to retrieve the halo from a girl who accidentally got it.

Beatrice wants to ignore her soul mark and focus on the mission but Ava just won't let her. It doesn't help that her friends are conspiring to help Ava.

(This is a spin off of my other story Red's Descent. For full context of a few of these scenes, you should probably read that one first. This is not a complete rewrite. While I did rewrite some scenes from Chloe's perspective, most are new or continuations from the first story.)
