Saihara stared down the hall, scared of what he’d find behind it. Well not find persay for he already knew what was held in the room.
Swallowing, he slowly started to make his way down, trying his best to ignore the way he trembled. It’ll be okay… But would it? He had reunited with everyone from the game, had been to therapy with them all, had given them hugs, been a shoulder to cry on and cried on their shoulders, staining their shirts with tears.
That was, everyone except one. Someone he didn’t expect to miss so much yet here he was, tears starting to build up in his eyes before he had even seen the slightest hint of him.

Cruel laughter spread through the trial room, covering the sobs and swears from those he had betrayed. As his laughter slowly died, Shuichi wiped away a tear, a manic grin spread across his face.
Smiling, he skipped his way to the group, mockingly wiping some blood off Kaito's face before smearing it on the astronaut's shirt, tsking as he did so before pulling out a wipe, and cleaning his fingers off with a hum.
"You wanna know the best part Mr Hero~?" His teeth flashed under the bright lights as he leaned further into his personal space. "You were right. Maki never killed Kokichi~ Your goal of rehabilitating the cold-hearted killing machine worked!"

Percy was seven the first time he woke screaming, the taste of blood in his mouth and the howling of hounds resounding throughout his head. His mom rushed into his room to cradle him in her arms. When she asked, he bit his tongue, told her only of dogs chasing after him. He didn’t tell her of the boy with the goat legs, the pain of being torn apart, and the warm light that engulfed him at the end. She held him until he fell back asleep. Elsewhere, a young daughter of Zeus made her final stand.
Percy was nine when he opened his eyes, phantom lightning crawling over his skin and the echoes of a woman’s last moments still ringing in his ears. If he closed his eyes, he could still see the twin onyx eyes staring back at him.
When his mother told him the story of his namesake, of Perseus the son of Zeus, he didn't tell her he already knew. Had already seen a mother and her infant set adrift in a raging storm, watched a boy travel far and slay monsters for the sake of his mother’s safety. But he didn’t tell her this. He was young, but he knew already what happened to people like him. People who see.
He was no prophet; he would not suffer their fate. He would bite his tongue and let the prophecies pass him by.

Sometimes Will thinks he was destined to die at 4, in penance. He should have choked on his own disease, his own plague; he didn't, and the only thing that died in him was the sparking flame Prometheus gifted them all, blown to matted ember in the stalk of his chest.
Instead his brothers watched his shame bubble out of his mouth, circle him in clouds of spores, and they lied for him. And then they were slaughtered, as were the punished firstborns, for the crime of their knowing existence: Will, marked, stood on their shrouds and ashes.
He smells of guilt, he thinks. Of guilt and germ and rot. He hides it, in all the antiseptic he can bathe in, in all the ethanol he can consume. But his breath still stinks of it and his lying tongue burns. He is tall, removed from those around him; they cannot see the sores in his mouth or the inflammation of his throat from years and years of choking hands.
But the tallest obelisks are swallowed by the length of their shadows. Nico gets closer, and closer. His hands are cool compresses on the hidden sores on Will's skin. It is relief, as he is never felt it.
Will is afraid.
