“So it seems like you’re all mine for the evening.” Maul draws his attention back by nudging his drink towards him. Obi-Wan obliges and takes another big swallow, careful to allow some of the alcohol to filter from his blood. Maul is very handsome, and so far Obi-Wan is receptive to his advances, but he still needs to keep his wits about him. Looking up at the Zabrak, he decides to be brave.
“It seems like I am. What will you do with me?” This gets him a low chuckle and Maul shifts even closer, vanishing the last of the space between their bodies until Obi-Wan can feel the heat of him from his knees to his hips to his chest.
“Oh, I’ll ruin you, little Jedi.”

There's an awkward pause as Cody hushes Rex away and Maul takes the time to absolutely not panic over the fact that he's standing beside one of the other few men — in this office at least — that have seen Obi-wan Kenobi in all his glorious nakedness. He frowns and checks his collar with his fingers. It's unreasonable to fear Cody like that, the man has been nothing but friendly to him for the past two years, but Maul can't stop fretting over the feeling that something, anything will give him away and show just what he'd been up to all night.

Cody preferred neither of those options. “How about a fellow prisoner?” He tried.
When Cody gets stuck in a prison cell with Maul of all people, he tries to make the best of it. Even when the Sith figures out that Cody has feelings for his Jedi General and can't leave that fact alone.

Summary
Let’s switch up the timeline a little bit:
Maul is captured by Ahsoka before the Chancellor is being kidnapped, thus Order 66 doesn’t happen just yet. Instead Maul is taken to Coruscant to stand trial.
At the same time, an Exploration Corp finds note of an ancient artifact of great importance, but has trouble locating it. For the artifact to be located and activated, it needs both, a Jedi and a Sith. Good thing the Order has one at hand. Obi-Wan, unwilling to put another Jedi at risk, volunteers to work with Maul. Maul is, surprisingly, quite cooperative.
Together, they challenge destiny.

Summary
None of this, of course, served to actually make Maul good. It merely made him useful, which he had been trained to be. Even a bomb was a tool, wasn’t it? Though its usefulness ended with its destruction. Its usefulness was its destruction. Perhaps that was Maul’s destiny as well.
Maul and Obi-Wan's life in exile is interrupted by a Force vision, sending them on a journey where they must each confront what it is they fear most.
