Keith Kogane is hot-headed, rebellious and dangerous. He flies by the seat of his pants with no regard for his safety, or the safety of his fellow cadets. He struggles to conform to the strict culture of the Garrison Flight Academy, with a reputation to his name for being a completely insatiable thrillseeker, an adrenaline junkie. Not only does he not follow the rules of flying, but he's outspoken and snappy. He bites, and he's not afraid to go fist to fist to put people in their place.
Lance McClain is everything that Keith isn't. He's the academy's "Golden Boy". He's annoyingly charming, popular and obedient. He gets to where he wants to be in the academy by playing by the rules, showing up and doing the work. However, Keith's ability to sail through each training session through the use of dangerous and careless maneuvers never fails to piss Lance off.
It doesn't help the situation that Keith finds Lance impossibly attractive, but who is Lance when he's not performing for a crowd? Keith begins aching to claw past Lance's facade and see him for who he really is.
Klance Top Gun themed au because this has been rotting in my brain for like a YEAR. Expect Top Gun references.

He stumbled towards the darkened exit, footsteps scattering clouds of dust that coated his bloodied arms.
From the corner of his vision, he noticed a figure towing the beaten foe out of the arena by his foot, leaving his head to loll against the sand and catching dust in his open mouth.
Lance looked away again, instead focusing on the shadowed figure that waited for him in the pleasantly cool dark under the stadium.
His subconscious flared when he met her gaze, a desperate warning that battled against a strange sense of safety and, dare he say it, home.
Her golden eyes provided just enough light to illuminate the sharp smile on her face, light licking at her yellowed teeth when she spoke. “Hello, my dear champion”.OR
Voltron struggles with the death of their blue paladin. Millions of light-years away, Lance struggles with his identity and lack of memories. Who was he before this? And who could be become if given a chance to grow?

The quintessence took everything from him except his mind.
Keith is now purple, has puppy ears, a tail he can't control, and every Galra who looks at him sees a baby. The Blade of Marmora claims him as a kit. Emperor Zarkon wants him as a symbol. Prince Lotor wants him as a brother. Voltron wants him back.
Keith just wants someone to ask him what he wants.
No one asks.

Summary
When Will's father's dies, he is not expecting to present as Omega. Or that the daily vitamins he's been given for as long as he could remember are actually heat suppressants. The Department of Omegan Affairs requires all presented Omega to attend a mandatory state-run preparatory school for mating, with the goal of making them more presentable for their future Alpha. Will is a rare and special case. Further testing and supplementary training is required. And any refusal to accept his nature will be met with discipline and punishment.
To Will, it feels like torture.
